Due to the rather complex forecasting of snowfall accurately, Leeds got no snow either! :-(

Aldridge will now have more chance of snow than leeds due to the cheshire "gap" - the area of land that lies between the Welsh Mountains and the Pennines where on a north-westerly wind the snow may travel.......

Hello!
It's been a while since i've found the time to post up on here because so much as been happening in my life! :-D
Firstly, after having been ill with a flu-type virus i then had to catch up on a week's work, during which i was attending my cousin's wedding, her very special day. :)
Then with a hectic schedule of lectures on top, i ended up spending the following monday evening working from 8pm to 5am near solid. Somehow (Praise be to God!) i wasnt at all tired next day, although it only caught up on the thursday, my day off! :)
At that point i had 4 assignments due in on the same day....... :-O harsh!!
Anyway, some of you may know that before i left for university i was having some 'issues', well these got sorted within about 2 weeks of being back, but only after loosing my coursemates due t them having involved them over the last year.. very complex for here...
Although, loosing many coursemates has led me on to meet new people and more importantly re-discover the beauty of my personal 121 relationship with the heavenly Father. My whole life has turned around since this time - i'm actually reading the bible, having a fantastic prayer life and really really letting Christ be the centre and leader of my life, surrendering all to Him.
My improving spiritual life has influenced my entire life significantly with my housemates noticing a distinct change in me over just 10days or so and especially after the CU Houseparty last weekend (28th-30th October), where i really engaged with God and found the answer to my "So Lord, whats next in my life?"...
The answer? Lets just say i'm meeting a Reverend of my Leeds Church to discuss getting Baptised by full immersion, which i know will be the start of even more exciting things, not only attending the GO! Evangelism Training Conference in York on Nov. 5th, but also things i do not yet know.... this actually is very exciting rather than scary cause of the trust we can place in Christ Jesus' holy name.
Watch this space...........!
Tek care one and all - Dont mess about with those Bonfires and Fireworks,
Tuba
P.S. Stay Tuned for a return of some old features.......... ;) remember Babe/Buddy of the Week?

"Ill Health Attacks Student"
Just like with many students across the UK, an infamous cold, sore throat and headaches combo has attacked with avengance. Now it is my turn to suffer... just as well im in a warm house, taking time out of uni to get better before exposing myself to the germs again.... and even spread it to the currently fit and healthy students.
If your ill as well at the moment - i sympathise
Love and best wishes

Back In Leeds, In a House!
After much anticipation of living in a house for second year of university, the time finally arrived on Sat Sept 10th when all was packed and I set-off for a another adventure of work and play.
"Sept 10th is a bit early?" you might say, and u'd be right! I was the 'Head of Promotions' of re:fresher (the name given to Leeds CU events during freshers week!) - which meant i needed to get the flyers printed the week before. :-) At the same time, going earlier meant that there was more time to settle into the pastures new away from ol' dev. (devonshire hall)
Now, Lectures have begun and in due course so will the large coursework assignments! The modules im taking this semester (til christmas) range from 'Climate Change' to 'Computer Systems & Programming [linux/unix] and even Applied Statistical Methods (yuk!).
Outside of my studies, I'm once again involved with the Christian Union this year & Symphonic Wind Orchestra were i'll be playing 1st Tuba (if it can be graded 1st, 2nd, 3rd that is when there are very few players, i.e. one)
Do keep in touch & if you wish to write, drop me a line via the comments.
Tek care everyone

Following the events of London last Thursday, it was inevitable that 'intelligence' would suggest a threat to Birmingham and consequently, Saturday evening saw a mass evacuation of the city centre after reports of a "serious and credible threat."
Better safe than sorry.... Meanwhile, a storm had brewed:

Thats the opinion that the citizens of florida have had to have recently with the arrival of Hurricane Dennis. With winds of 100mph, torrential rain and tornados the area has had a battering unlike anything we can imagine in the UK. Here we get a maximum of 70-90mph gusts not average wind speed like during the hurricanes/typhoons experienced across the world.
My personal job search continues.

More Storms - Better Lightning!
What a spectacular show nature put on last night!

Lightning so intense and bright and purple........ didn't catch the most amazing bolt of lightning on camera, but did pick up some good ones.
Is it a case of storms getting worse due to global warming, or just a natural occurence as the world attempts to re-balance itself following the Industrial revolution ??
Post your comments on this 'forum' issue, perhaps your own memories of thunderstorms, past and present.. any1 recall the storm with the unofficial tornado on aldridge airport?
Take Care of yourselves!

Its back to jobhunting & fixing PC's - became a victim of MSN Messenger 7.0 yesterday - forced to upgrade only for the XP system files to corrupt with no "System Restore" available... Norton GoBack held the answer :-)
Back Online without any major losses & got a version of MSN Messenger 6.2, which doesn't demand you to upgrade every time you sign in. Interested? Email me, tubagroova, @gmail.com (without comma & space).

Mortgage Introducer :: Case Studies - Andrew Benton and his wife Emy are looking to buy a two-bedroom flat in North London.
Andrew Benton and his wife Emy are looking to buy a two-bedroom flat in North London. They are looking at properties in the £200-£230,000 range. Andrew earns £27,500 a year and Emy earns £30,000. Emy's parents are able to provide £50,000 as a deposit on the property – this is not a gift but an investment in the property. Andrew and Emy also have debts totalling £8,000 between them. What are the options available to them and how do they stand legally with Emy’s parent’s investment?

Cloverley - Just Awesome!
Here it is - The Post-Cloverley Update!
What an awesome weekend at Cloverley with AYF.... a lot was learnt, shared and perhaps discovered in what will be a weekend i will remember for some time. Im almost certain that God spoke to or met with many who were there and there are big things to come....
From the very first night, Matt Wallace - what a legend, does he visit this yet? - gave us really good talks full of practical advice in our walk with christ. To see them, just visit the AYF Cloverley 2005 Page for the talks and interesting pictures.
I can see now exactly why i felt called by christ to come back home for Cloverley, to take a break from the uni life and spend a weekend dedicated to worship, study and God. - It was exactly what i needed after my recent struggles over the last month or two.
I now not only feel refreshed, but also prepared for the plans God has instore for me after discovering what my spiritual gifts may be... prayer about these should i hope help me have this knowledge..
Unfortunately, as with all Cloverley's - they come to an end all to quickly!
Before i knew i was back on the train to leeds at 8am on Monday morning, getting off at platform 9b/c at leeds station and making why way back to Dev before my maths lecture at 12.
Since then, i've been recovering from sleep, but also feeling much better :D
God is well and truly working in our lives, even when we don't see it!
God Bless you all, tek care

Happy New Year! Here is this long overdue update .. apologies about that I've been very busy with the End of Semester 1 Exams, sorting out a house and yep, so many lectures in the last week!
The 5 exams i had all seem to have gone well, im just awaiting the results of them, when i know u'll see it on here!
Housey Housey! - In the last week i've gone from just browsing round the local area's housing to signing the UniPol agreed contract this morning. I can declare that I have a house for my second year here in Leeds.... you read it here first. ( You lucky people! )
The house is situated near the local railway station and just behind Headingley stadium, with a short walk to uni ( or bus trip) as well as to the centre of Headingley & one of the local cinemas! Quite a good location if you ask me!
As there are 10 in my group, we have two 5-bedroom houses next-door-but-one from each other.. so the split between the "girls" house and "lads" house (where i am of course!) its not going to be too bad after all... (cue awkward silences last sunday over the split)
But alls well & i have the house i only saw back on Wednesday Afternoon - all the housing business was made easier by the easy week i've had so far! ...
4 HOURS, Yep! 4 HOURS of timetabled lectures etc this week due to 2 modules being cancelled. Hence a lot of time using DOS emulators to play very old games in Windows XP! Wicked!!
Anyways I also have an essay on 'rainforest destruction over the last 20 years' to write this weekend, so i'll love you n leave you..
Those of you going to AYF's Cloverley Hall Weekend- see you there! (well, on the coach!)
